Uche Anadu Ndefo, PharmD., BCPS

 

The NAPPSA Member of the Month - a forum to recognize and thank a member of NAPPSA who has supported the Association's endeavors. Each month NAPPSA highlights one member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. We hope you enjoy learning about your fellow members and always encourage your participation in the Association events and activities.

 

NAPPSA is proud to recognize Uche Anadu Ndefo, PharmD., as Member of the Month for July  2017.  Dr. Ndefo has been NAPPSA member since 2008 and is a current member of NAPPSA Education Committee. 


 

Dr. Ndefo is an Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas. Since her graduation and board certification in pharmacotherapy, Uche has worked in various health-system settings including ambulatory care pharmacy. 


 

Dr. Ndefo’s areas of interest include several disease states (diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia), medication therapy management (MTM) and drug information. As principal scientific investigator, Uche has received numerous research grants over the past 10 years and a $215,000 grant in 2017. Dr. Ndefo has authored over 24 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and made over 20 professional presentations at scientific workshops and conferences including NAPPSA and the Annual International Training Workshop on Pharmacotherapy in Nigerian Universities. She has served on the Editorial Boards of several scientific journals including Annals of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics and the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy.
