Joining the NAPPSA Business-to-Business Group
The Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which comprise pharmaceutical healthcare professionals who have a common cause in the efficient delivery of healthcare. Efficient delivery of pharmaceutical products or services requires a harmonized system and such approach leads to the making of The Brand.
The NAPPSA Brand is a Hybrid business model designed to reap the benefits of existing group purchasing organizations (GPOs) or Buying Groups without the costs associated with forming another GPO. The GPO managers primarily recruit independent pharmacies into their groups to help boost their buying power.
To leverage the broad demographics within the organization, NAPPSA Business-to- Business group (B2B) was created to viably represent NAPPSA in the pharmaceutical marketplace through its member Pharmacy owners. The NAPPSA B2B creates and maintains business relationships between NAPPSA and other businesses in the pharmaceutical industry. The established network system ensures that the business relationships are streamlined.
Sometimes, B2B members may want to have a separate business agreement with individual pharmaceutical product supplier or entity but such tendency does not play out well. The law of diminishing returns starts to kick in as the partner entities loose their special status as their incentives to nurture the relationship slip away. The network system crashes under its own weight due to business disloyalty.
Presently, NAPPSA has preferred primary vendor agreements with Cardinal Health (through AAP), In addition, NAPPSA has a student scholarship agreement with H.D. Smith. At the secondary wholesaler level, NAPPSA has a preferred agreement with Auburn Pharmaceuticals. and is currently evaluating some other suppliers for the second option.
Let us join en masse to maximize the benefits of the Buying Group for NAPPSA. With the strong business network system created by NAPPSA B2B, member business owners are in business for themselves but never by themselves. The future could not be brighter.
