PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

The NAPPSA Member of the Month – a forum to recognize and thank a member of NAPPSA who has supported the Association’s endeavors. Each month NAPPSA highlights one member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. We hope you enjoy learning about your fellow members and always encourage your participation in Association events and activities.

NAPPSA is proud to recognize Vern Ohaya, R.Ph. as the Member of the Month for June 2017.  Pharm. Ohaya is a current member of NAPPSA Membership Committee.

Pharm. Ohaya is an Executive Director with Trustee Drugs, Inc., based in Atlanta, Georgia with a branch in Victoria Island, Lagos.  Vern started his pharmacy professional career with Kroger Drugstore and later moved to Eckerd Drugstore, Inc. where he became the Pharmacy Manager. He worked as the National Database Manager for The American Cancer Society and, subsequently, as a Senior Database Manager with Synavant, Inc., an Atlanta-based Software company.

Under his lead, Trustee Drugs Inc. is currently pioneering the use of TrustRx software technology to mitigate medication errors; advance pharmaceutical care and wellness in developing countries.

Pharm Ohaya has been a NAPPSA member since 2006 and was an invaluable member of the local organizing committee for the 2008 NAPPSA Scientific Conference and Exhibition in Atlanta.  Vern has represented NAPPSA in annual meetings of Nigerian pharmacy associations.  Vern has given insightful presentations on innovative pharmacy technology at the 2011 NAPPSA Abuja Summit and Annual NAPPSA Scientific Conferences.
